25 Days of Christmas Songs - Day 11 - Joy to the World

The words to Joy to the World were "written" by Isaac Watts in 1719, although the song is a word-for-word translation of Psalm 98. The music to the carol was composed by George Frederick Handel (1685-1759).

Joy to the World

Joy to the world! The Lord has come:
Let earth receive her King.
Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room,
Let heaven and nature sing,
Let heaven and nature sing,
Let heaven and heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the world the Savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat repeat the sounding joy

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, and wonders of His love.

Joy to the world! The Lord has come:
Let earth receive her King.
Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room,
Let heaven and nature sing,
Let heaven and nature sing,
Let heaven and heaven and nature sing.
